"Robinson makes highly individual music full of quiet surprises." Doug Spencer producer of 'The Planet', ABC Radio National.
"If there is such a thing as an Australian contemporary jazz sound, this comes close with its mix of eclecticism and daring." The Melbourne Age.
"The band has performed regularly in and around Melbourne as well as at the Wangarratta Jazz Festival and the Melbourne International Jazz Festival. Through it's many live performances the ensemble has developed a unique and exciting sound that comes out of what has been described as a super group of Melbourne musicians. These include Danny Fischer on drums, ARIA Jazz Award winner Andrea Keller on piano, Adam Simmons on saxophones, Mark Shepherd on bass and Kynan Robinson on the trombone. Erik Griswold also features on three of the tracks playing prepared piano. All tracks are original and are composed by Kynan Robinson who is fast developing a reputation as one of Australia's most unique and exciting jazz composers. Far from being a traditional jazz album en Rusk's 1000 Wide pushes the genre in new directions and takes the listener on a journey full of twists. The album has already generated a high level of excitement from radio DJ's and represents an important development in the lineage of Australian Jazz. 1000 Wide - the second CD by Kynan Robinson's En Rusk - confirms that the quintet's debut was no fluke. The trombone-wielding young Australian leader is both improvisatory player and meticulous composer, his music always logical yet often surprising. He likes to juxtapose the hot with the cool, the funky with the ethereal." ABC Radio National.
