Saxophonist Lachlan Davidson is a sought after composer, improviser and teacher with credits in jazz, classical and commercial fields. This group was founded 3 years ago to document his jazz performing and composing skills, bringing together Colin Hopkins (p), Jon Chidgey (b) and Anthony Baker (dr), all seasoned and in-demand professionals.

The CD was recorded live in the studio with loose, open arrangements to allow for unfettered blowing and the six tracks cross between straight-ahead swing, funk with and without changes and an almost orchestral ballad. A good, solid, straight-ahead set.
