Based in New York and of Portugal birth Sara Serpa has been taking the jazz scene by Storm. Hand picked by Adrian Jackson of Wangaratta Jazz festival her brand new album Camera Obscura with Ran Blake has been making a real stir. Serpa, who has made a name for herself as a singer who performs without words, reveals another side of her ever-deepening art. To put her personal stamp on these songs she needed a partner like Ran Blake, a musician as willing to take chances with a song as she is.
