Album Description

"Taking off from a rare precinct, the trio music of Bobby Hutcherson and Walt Dickerson, John Bell's vibes find absorbing new trails on that most unexplored of jazz instruments." The WlRE, UK. (Richard Cook, editor Penguin Jazz Buyers Guide) 'Spirals' was recorded by the ABC in Melbourne in December 2000 for Jim McLeod's 'Jazztrack' program on Classic FM. Vibraphonist John Bell had been rehearsing and performing with this trio sporadically in 2000 and again in 2001 before returning to New Zealand. The trio features the talents of bassist Frank Di Sario and drummer Ronnie Ferella.

Projects have included - 'C L BOB', the 'Razorblades' and 'Sanctus' whose album '2 Moons' was released in 2000.
