Kelly Auty - Mademoiselle Chante

Album Description

Recently played on J-Air radio, the beautiful vocals of Kelly Auty showcased in this stunning release taking you through the romantic streets of Paris. An album worth re-visiting and a must for lovers at heart.

Kelly Auty has sung since she can remember. Born in Mooroopna near Shepparton, she grew up on the Ord river in the Kimberleys. She first heard singing from the voices of Paul Robeson, Miriam Makeba, Odetta, Bessie Smith, Eartha Kitt, and a myriad of finely tuned, well honed voices rich with living, poetry and authenticity. Folk songs, field hollers, blues, classics, amazing choirs, gypsy music...great food for a fertile mind.

By the time Kelly was 24 she had two sons, Cameron and Aaron. Her family moved to the Gold Coast, where Kelly worked performed with bands supporting The Divinyl's, The Drifters, and was taught the fine art of studio singing by fellow musicians and friends, Rick Kent and Lee Conway.

Kelly moved to Melbourne in 1989, lured by cultural diversity and an historic city for her sons to explore. Since her arrival in Melbourne Kelly has sung supports for Janis Ian, Eric Burden, John Hammond, Jose Feliciano, Manhattan Transfer, the Platters and backing vocals for Paul Capsis with Kerri Simpson and L'il Fi. Festival engagements include Apollo Bay, Port Fairy, Goulburn, Broadford (Rock), Bridgetown, Mordialloc, Brunswick and many more.

Mademoiselle Chante showcases Kelly Auty’s talent as an outstanding lead vocalist, where she performs effortlessly in French. This beautiful release includes amazing compositions performed by some of Australia’s most talented musicians including Paul Williamson, Warick Thomas, Nick Carrafa, Hermann Schwaiger, Boris Conley, Linda O’Brien, Chris Sommervelle, Dave Evans, Sam See, Brian Kemp and Steve Grant.
